EU leaders will be gathering in Brussels on Thursday and Friday for the June European Council meeting.
During this week’s meeting, EU leaders are expected to adopt the 2019-2024 Strategic Agenda for the Union, revert to the issue of the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework, discuss climate change ahead of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit on September 23, and will take note of the disinformation and elections report on lessons learnt prepared by the Presidency in cooperation with the Commission and the High Representative. Leaders will likely raise a number of foreign policy issues in the light of certain events such as Cyprus-Turkey relations.
During the Summit for Southern EU States held in Malta on Friday and ahead of the Council meeting, the seven EU states reaffirmed their position on a number of issues.
