The G7 summit will be held in France on August 24-26, 2019.
European leaders are expected to discuss global challenges with the leaders of the G7 countries, including pressing foreign and security issues, such as relations with Iran, Russia and North Korea. Media reports have stated that outgoing President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker will miss the meeting due to surgery he has just undergone.
The Biarritz summit was set to be the first meeting between Mr Juncker and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson since his election last month. The British PM will travel to Paris and Berlin this week before the G7, while the EU is likely to be represented by Donald Tusk, President of the European Council, at the summit where Brexit is expected to dominate the sidelines as well.« Back
