The European Commission has this week proposed a €9.4 billion health programme with the intent of investing funds to strengthen health systems and better equip the European Union for the future.
The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the need to strengthen the European Union’s preparedness and capability to respond to cross-border health threats.
The programme, named EU4Health will make significant contributions to Member States facing a dire post-COVID-19 recovery. Its aim is to improve European citizens’ health, strengthen health sector’s resilience and encourage innovation in the health sector.
