On July 7, the European Commission published a report on the Commission’s system to prevent and/or restrict selling of dangerous products on the market, the so-called ‘Rapid Alert System’.
The report shows that throughout 2019, the number of actions taken by authorities to address dangerous products following an alert is constantly increasing. In fact an increase was registered in 2019 (4,477 actions) when compared to 2018 (4,050).
Toys were the most highlighted dangerous products (29% of all notifications), followed by motor vehicles (23%) and electrical appliances and equipment (8%).
