The European Commission has pledged funding worth €30 million to help address the immediate needs of those affected by the deadly explosion in Beirut on August 4.
This comes on top of the €33 million that was announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on August 6.
This funding will be channelled to the United Nations, agencies, NGOs and international organisations whilst strictly monitored to ensure best use of resources.
Assistance will benefit hundreds of thousands of the most affected people to cover basic and essential needs.
