MEUSAC, in conjunction with the Ministry for the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change (MESDC), organised a consultation session on the Sustainable Development Vision for 2050.
The aim of this consultation session, led by Director George Said from the Sustainable Development Directorate, was to discuss the aspirations and priorities for mainstreaming sustainable development up till the year 2050. Mr Said stressed the importance of a low-carbon economy and more sustainable mobility, along with sustainable buildings as part of the build-up to 2050.
The Vision itself answers the question of why there is a need to think about the future today. It seeks to better prepare stakeholders to face the challenges of the modern world in order to achieve common objectives.
This consultation session targeted the Urban Development, Infrastructure, Mobility and Resources sectors, and was open to Government officials, academia and other relevant stakeholders working in the sectors.
