Debating Europe’s Future

As part of its core functions, MEUSAC is committed to ensure that citizens and civil society are engaged in a healthy debate on the future of the European Union.

Through this page you can get involved in helping to shape the future of the European Union.

Between July and November 2018, MEUSAC organised a series of citizens’ consultations themed ‘Għid tiegħek dwar l-Ewropa’ (Have Your Say about Europe) as part of an EU27-wide initiative.

Initially proposed by French President Emanuel Macron to reconnect citizens to the European project, ‘Għid tiegħek dwar l-Ewropa’ reflected the view promoted by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat for such a dialogue on the EU and its future to be widened to include citizens who feel excluded and those who have diverging views about the EU.

The executive summaries of the 27 national reports have been compiled in a joint report by the Austrian Presidency of the EU Council. The joint report, together with the different national reports and input from the other European institutions, are intended to contribute to the debate leading to the informal meeting of the Heads of State or Government on 9 May 2019 in Sibiu and to the new Strategic Agenda 2019-2024.
