Dr Chris Bonett visits children at our SkolaSajf activity

During a visit at our offices, Parliamentary Secretary for EU Funds, Dr Chris Bonett, met a group of children from Ħal Tarxien SkolaSajf Centre in the activity themed, ‘European Union Climate Heroes’.

SkolaSajf activities are organised by Europe Direct Valletta and Servizzi Ewropej f’Malta in close collaboration with the Foundation for Educational Services.

The Parliamentary Secretary entered into a conversation with the children about the different EU Member States and why was the EU formed. He also spoke to them about Malta in the EU and how EU funds are invested in Malta through projects that are of benefit to society such as roads, health, education and the environment.

SEM CEO, Mandy Falzon and FES Chairperson, Pamela Schembri were also present for the event, accompanied by officials from both entities.

Between July 18 and August 19, Europe Direct Valletta and Servizzi Ewropej f’Malta, are organising activities for SkolaSajf children for the tenth consecutive year. This year, SEM officials are delivering 25 sessions (19 in Malta and 6 in Gozo) to over 400 children aged 8 to 12.
