Cycling Tour to EU Funded Sites - North Route

The second of three cycling tours organised in collaboration with ROTA

On May 28, SEM and Europe Direct Valletta held the second of three cycling tours to EU funded sites. These organised tours for adults to different sites and projects around Malta and Gozo that have been co-financed by the European Union, showcase the various ways in which the European Union seeks to invest in and support.

SEM teamed up with ROTA - an eNGO advocating for safe bicycle use - to hold cycling tours around three main areas: a South Tour, a North Tour and a Gozo Tour.

The North Tour started from the Salina Nature Reserve, on to BirdPark Malta. Officials from BirdLife Malta and BirdPark Malta provided a detailed explanation of how EU funds were invested in the respective sites.

Participants then rode up to Bidnija and down to beautiful Wied tal-Imselliet, heading towards Ġnien l-Għarusa tal-Mosta, Birguma, Top of the World in Għargħur and back to Salina, covering a distance of about 18km.
