Information Sessions: Grant Scheme for the Renovation of Private Sector Buildings

An opportunity to upgrade the energy performance of commercial building assets

On March 9 and 16, Servizzi Ewropej f’Malta (SEM) and the Measures and Support Division within the Ministry for the Economy, European Funds and Lands held two information sessions on the open call for enterprises to support investments to address high upfront costs of building renovation in the private sector.

Renovation, retrofitting, and refurbishment of existing buildings represent an opportunity to upgrade the energy performance of commercial building assets for their ongoing life. In this regard, this Grant Scheme will support eligible micro, small, medium and large enterprises to undertake actions that reduce the primary energy demand of the building by reducing the energy used for heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water and lighting.

The entire investment costs necessary to achieve a higher level of energy efficiency in buildings constitute the eligible costs, provided that the aid induces energy efficiency improvements leading to a reduction in primary energy demand of at least 30% compared to the situation prior to the investment.

During the information sessions, participants were provided with more information on the open funding call, defining the parameters of the scheme, allowing them to gain more awareness of SEM’s funding assistance services, and raise any queries they may have.

Individuals interested in learning more about the scheme are invited to view the recording of the session provided below.

Applications are open from March 1 till April 28, 2023. More information on the scheme can be accessed here.
