SEM holds an EU Funds Networking Event
Spotlighting a number of funding opportunities that will be available next year
This morning SEM held an EU Funds Networking Event, with the ultimate aim of spotlighting a number of funding opportunities that will be available in the next year and allowing space for participants to network with the relevant entities that would be able to assist them in accessing these opportunities.
The event focused on a selection of funding programmes, namely Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps, the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV), the LIFE Programme, and the Interreg Euro-MED Programme. First, a plenary session was held were attendees received an overview of these programmes and the opportunities available under them. This was followed by a networking activity, the EU Funds Marketplace. Here, the relevant Contact Points or Managing Authorities of these funding programmes were present on stands so that participants had the opportunity to ask questions about their respective project ideas in an informal, one-to-one manner. Specifically, the entities present were: the European Unions Programmes Agency (EUPA), National Agency for Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps; the Ministry for Equality, Research and Innovation, Contact Point for the CERV Programme; the Ministry for the Environment, Climate Change and Planning, Contact Point for the LIFE Programme; and the Funds and Programmes Division, Contact Point for the Interreg Euro-MED Programme.
Moreover, 6 organisations who were previous beneficiaries of the programmes were also present, to talk to participants about their experience applying for and implementing an EU-funded project. The organisations participating were JEF Malta, beneficiary under Erasmus+; iHelp, beneficiary under European Solidarity Corps; Mellieha Local Council, beneficiary under the CERV Programme, the Human Rights Directorate, beneficiary under the CERV Programme; the Energy and Water Agency, beneficiary under the LIFE Programme, and the Malta Regional Development and Dialogue Foundation, beneficiary under the Interreg Euro-MED Programme.
