The annual report gives an overview of what SEM stands for and how in 2021 it strived to serve as the leading agency in Malta that engages citizens in EU related matters.

In a nutshell, in 2021, SEM organised over 45 public discussions, training and information sessions, policy outreach sessions and press conferences and providing replies to over 490 requests for information. SEM also continued to invest heavily in communicating the EU through the main social media channels together with print media and presence on several television and radio programmes.

The strongly motivated team at SEM continued to reach out to and assist stakeholders through a one-to-one approach, with over 375 meetings with individuals and different types of organisations to discuss queries related to the European Union and EU funding opportunities.

2021 also marked the first time that SEM started offering project implementation support service.
