The Creative Europe programme supports a wide range of artistic and creative sector, including film, digital games, design, and publishing. The proposal for the upcoming Creative Europe programme looks to build on the objectives of the European Agenda for Culture.
The proposal was published by the European Commission on May 30, 2018, as part of the new Multiannual Financial Framework for 2021-2027.
The European Parliament proposed a doubling of the current budget to €2.806 billion, and the introduction of EU-added value as a pre-condition for project funding.
The Proposal reached a partial general approach on December 20 2018, not covering budgetary aspects.
The first trilogue was held on 9 October, wherein the co-legislators presented their respective positions and had a preliminary exchange of views.
