This Communication was presented by the European Commission on December 11, 2019.

European Parliament

MEPs gave their support to the European Green Deal on January 15, 2020. In particular, they noted the importance of higher targets for energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Council of the EU

During a meeting of the European Council on December 12-13, 2019 EU leaders endorsed the overall objective of making the EU climate-neutral by 2050.
