Information Measures for the EU Cohesion Policy (IMREG)

Support for information measures relating to the EU Cohesion policy

The Cohesion policy provides for public funding targeted at EU regions with the objective to support job creation, business competitiveness, economic growth, sustainable development, and improve citizens' quality of life across the EU's regions. It is one of the most important policy areas, representing a third of the total EU budget. This support is delivered through a range of funds and instruments, from the European Regional Development Fund and the European Social Fund, to the Just Transition Fund, as well as other instruments in particular the Technical Support Instrument which supports reforms including of public administrations, thereby helping to improve the resilience of Member States’ public services.

The Information Measures for the EU Cohesion Policy Programme (IMREG) supports the Cohesion Policy by funding measures that provide information about it. It thus enables a more informed debate about future priorities for the EU and on the way how the funding should be used and with what results.

With the call for proposals “Support for information measures relating to the EU Cohesion policy”, the European Commission selects potential beneficiaries who will produce and disseminate information and content linked to EU Cohesion policy, while respecting complete editorial independence of those involved.

The exact content of the proposed information measures will depend on the editorial choice of the applicants. The specific objectives of this call for proposals are to promote and foster a better understanding among the general public and stakeholders of the role of Cohesion policy in supporting all EU's regions; to increase awareness of projects funded by the EU, and to encourage dialogue and debate on Cohesion policy, its results, its role in delivering on the EU's political priorities and on its future.

Typically, the costs for this call are reimbursed at the funding rate of 80%.
